I am hopping up and down with excitement because my Uni term starts in less than two weeks and I cannot wait.
That said, the money I have to spend at the start of the year is astronomical. I have no idea why people keep saying University students should have to pay interest on their loans. The tution fee goes up every year (currently at £3225) and the amount we have to shell out on books (which usually costs anything from a tenner to £50 per book) is stupid. I actually got asked last year to buy a £25 book for a course I was only taking for the first year because I have to.
Yes, we have it easy in some ways- concession prices occasionally and council tax excemption.
But we still have to pay bills and buy food and all the malarky that comes with growing up.
Still, I'd rather pay the three thousand and learn something fantastic than work at tescos again. That said, I'd rather eat my own foot than work at tescos again but you know what I mean.
Kudos to Mog who is already back at Uni and Vikki who is so far away and whom I haven't seen in ages (since my christmas party?).
Thanks to all the people who turned up to Lazer quest and ran around with me in a dark flat for an hour. It made Trev's day and it made mine.
And one last thing. Vikki and Jen? Next September, we need to be together. Because we'll have known each other for ten years and that's something to celebrate. :)
Till next time kiddies,
Kit x

The worst epilogue to a review

I was going to start a once-weekly review of the new Robin Hood episodes. But, to be honest, all I would need to do is copy and paste March 28th journal and come up with a different title. I think I need something more difficult to moan about.
The universe, perhaps?
No? ah well.

Oh another note, watch Loading Ready Run. I've spent the last week going through every single video of theirs. Awesomeness.

Miester Hood

Just watched Robin Hood (Total eclipse). I have several problems with this particular series.
1) The peasents are wonderfully clean and well dressed. They also act a lot like sheep and they only have two expressions: Happy and terrified.
2) Robin and his men, at the start of the first series, had to sneak into the castle. As the series went on, they seemed to find it easier and easier to get in. This series I'm confused as to why the sherrif doesn't install a swing door to be honest. In this episode I just watched, Little Jonh and ...the other one (*shrugs*) walk past two guards standing by the gate and only put their hoods up when the sherrif walks past. As if gate guards won't know what they look like. Because they have no eyes...
3) This is a general moan about costumes. Mainly Marian's. Apparently there was a Top shop in the middle ages...¬¬
4) If I was the sherrif, by now I'd have got sick and tired of people being rescued at public excutions. Instead, I'd kill the people in the dungeon with perhaps a few peasents watching to spread the word.
5) At the end of this episode (stop now if you don't want 'bunny ears' spoilers- hell it's so predictable you only need a singular brain cell to know roughly how it ends) Robin stands on the battlements (having just pulled off some completely impossible archery(the arrows come from two directions- i.e. he'd have to run half way round the battlements to pull off the shots)) and spews some utter bilge about 'standing up' and 'it's for you that I fight' and you sort of wonder if he's not just run out of new material.

Maybe I'm judging it too harshly and it's more geared towards todays kids than at accuracy or amazing story telling. I was brought up with the Robin of Sherwood series and yeah, sure it's old and some of the acting is a little shoddy in places (considering today's standard) but hell's teeth, the stories were amazing, it looked real, it felt real, the episodes had varity and good plot lines.

And I didn't want to punch maid Marian for trying to be a ninja.

I appolgise if there's any spelling mistakes in the forllowing entry: I have a small sore spot on my wrist which is making me type funny.
Anyway.
Things are finally happening to me in Uni. I'm getting my confidence back (the part where I talk to other people anyway) and I feel part of something. A lot of thanks has to go to Trev for putting up with my make-like-the-mouse act.
Kit's back too, jumping up and down and shouting at me to write things. Watch this space.
I went to my first badminton session too today. Really really enjoyed it (though i did look like a beetroot for most of it (Trev, the witch, looked completely normal)) and met more people too. Yay. My racket rubbed my wrist tho (hence the rubbish typing.)
I have about two paper pads worth of drawings to scan in (I might also scan in some of the stuff I do during lectures and seminars) so I'll get round to that before long.
I also have to write a beginning to a story (creative writing kicks ass! This stuff counts as WORK) so look out for that. I'll have an assignment for next week too so if anyone has a fav character from Underground you'd like me to write about, tell me! (Or make up one :))
Hope your all having fun and I'll talk to ya soon! xxx
